Time To Fight Back As HSE Gets Savaged By Tory Cuts Whilst the media concentrated on the general cuts and their effect on the economy, the damage being done to the country's workplace health and safety was ignored. Unfortunately it will continue to be ignored in the days and moinths ahead - unlessthe Trade Unions and Health and Safety community make theri feelings known. Hilda Plamer, from GM Hazards has begun this publicity campaign with her message this morning on Face Book. under the campaign group on face Book, We Didn't Vote To Die At Work, she wrote: "HSE had its throat cut in yesterday's spending review as government slashed its budget by 35%! Local authorities also had massive 28% cut, so enforcement of health and safety will get even worse from an already unacceptably low level - amputations go uninvestigated but cuts in protection are the order of the day. She concluded by advising that it is, " Time to get angry and active: make the case for our lives, our health and our safety. Get more T- shirts, posters, info, and lobby your MP NOW!!" She urged everyone concerned about the cuts and future of UK workplaces to "Use our info and the TUC guide to lobbying: You can join Hilda on Face Book at the 'We didn't vote to die at work' Face book Group: www.facebook.com/home.php#!/group.php?gid=123746101003963 Join the TUC campaign against the cuts here: www.goingtowork.org.uk/ coming-soon/
